As a 1.5 generation Chinese-American, Karina brings unique perspectives and experiences into Foster Care. Having come from a society where social welfare is nonexistent, Karina valued and appreciated every opportunity this country has offered to help her transform from a shy immigrant student into an independent career woman. Devoting herself to a career in social services and giving back to the community was a natural decision for her. As an analyst for Family and Children Services, Karina combines her experience as a frontline social worker with the knowledge she acquired through graduate studies in Public Administration to help create and implement new policies and programs to meet the needs of each individual who makes a stop at FCS.
